Owner of Capitol De Beaute | Regional Director of FGI Atlanta
Melanie Woodroffe created Capitol de Beautè in 2009 as a creative visual and writing outlet, and it opened many doors for her personally and professionally. She says, “It was an opportunity to make the world a better place by sharing enlightening quotes, creative content and images with a mix of personal.” She continues, “Trust me, I know that every day is not an easy nor happy one, and with so much happening in the world right now, it sometimes feels impossible to smile, or even keep up, however, one has to try, which is why I initially started to blog!”
Channeling her background in tech, art, fashion, beauty and interior design helped to shape the view of how she perceives the world, which even in difficult times is full of lovely & positive possibilities! “Blogging allows me to check out and find a quiet space to imagine and dream, it has also allowed the chance for me to work and collaborate with great companies, designers and makers, and a few well-known brands too, like Dove, Conde Nast, Paperless Post, American Craft Council, and Pinterest! As a UX Designer, the virtual world is also my work world, so the digital space is definitely my happy place!”
Melanie also serves as the Atlanta Regional Director of New York-based global nonprofit organization, The Fashion Group International, Inc., with 5000 members around the world in the fashion industry, including apparel, accessories, beauty and home. FGI’s mission is to be the preeminent authority on the business of fashion and design, helping its members become more effective in their careers. “We have an amazingly talented chapter of Members worldwide, I am very proud and honored to lead in Atlanta.”
